WFS LIVE (November 23rd 2020) - Over 100 leaders representing the multiple sectors that make up the sports industry will participate from today until Friday in WFS LIVE, the digital format of World Football Summit, which in its inaugural edition brought together more than 3,400 participants. 

FIFA Secretary General, Fatma Samoura, LaLiga President, Javier Tebas, Bundesliga CEO, Christian Seifert, football legend Samuel Eto'o or super-agents Jonathan Barnett and Mino Raiola will be some of the guest speakers taking the virtual stage across 40+ discussion panels that will see the sport industry’s key stakeholders address the main issues affecting the business, shaken as so many others by the effects of the Covid-19.

Participants will discuss how to overcome the multiple challenges arising in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic and will share experiences and best practices in order to outline a roadmap that will enable the industry to continue growing in the so-called new normality.

Exploring new opportunities to compensate for the downfalls caused by the closure of stadiums will be one of the essential objectives of this congress, but other topics will also be addressed, such as the role of the industry in regards to issues of growing concern to society, such as racial or sexual discrimination, sustainability or climate change.

In fact, the opening day, which has been curated in collaboration with pledge-based charitable movement Common Goal, co-founded by Juan Mata, will be entirely devoted to reflecting on how football can leverage its unmatchable power to influence and further contribute to building a better society.

Leading executives representing top football clubs, such Olympique de Marseille CEO Jacques- Henri Eyraud or Los Angeles FC Vice President, Rich Orosco; leagues and federations, such as the NWSL Commissioner, Lisa Baird, and FIFA Council member Sol Muñoz, sponsor brands like Santander or Nike and footballers such as PSG’s Arianna Criscione and Manchester United’s Juan Mata will be reflecting on how to embed purpose in the fabric of football.
